Cookie Policy

Last updated: March 16, 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, provide information to site owners, and improve the user experience. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies the JAX platform (available at getjax.app) uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. Who Places Cookies

Cookies on our Service are placed by:

  • VectorLabs s.r.o. (first-party cookies) — cookies we set directly to operate the Service.
  • Third parties (third-party cookies) — cookies set by our service providers for authentication and analytics purposes.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled. Without them, you would not be able to log in or use core features.

CookieProviderPurposeDuration
__sessionClerkUser authentication sessionSession
__client_uatClerkClient-side authentication state1 year
__clerk_db_jwtClerkAuthentication tokenSession

3.2 Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors use the Service so we can improve it. They collect information about which pages are visited, how long sessions last, and which features are used.

CookieProviderPurposeDuration
ph_*PostHogProduct analytics — session tracking, feature usage, and event recording1 year

PostHog is configured with privacy-friendly defaults. We do not use PostHog session replay. Analytics data is used in aggregate to improve the Service and is not sold to third parties.

4. Cookies We Do NOT Use

For transparency, the following types of cookies are not used on JAX:

  • Advertising or retargeting cookies
  • Social media tracking pixels
  • Cross-site tracking cookies
  • Cookies used to build advertising profiles

We do not sell cookie data or any personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

5. Local Storage and Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, the Service uses browser local storage and session storage for:

  • Caching user preferences and UI state (e.g., sidebar collapsed/expanded)
  • Storing temporary form data to prevent loss on navigation
  • Maintaining Clerk authentication state

The Chrome extension uses Chrome's extension storage API (not cookies) to store authentication tokens and workspace configuration. This data remains on your device and is not shared with third parties.

6. How to Manage Cookies

You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

6.1 Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from using the Service.

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data

6.2 Opt Out of Analytics

You can opt out of PostHog analytics tracking by enabling the Do Not Track (DNT) setting in your browser or by using a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts.

7. Legal Basis

In accordance with the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) as implemented in Czech law (Act No. 127/2005 Coll., the Electronic Communications Act):

  • Strictly necessary cookies are placed without consent, as they are essential for the Service to function (Article 5(3) exemption).
  • Analytics cookies are placed based on our legitimate interest in improving the Service, using privacy-friendly configurations (no cross-site tracking, no advertising, aggregated data). You can opt out at any time as described in Section 6.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via the Service.
